Solar Basics & ROI

How solar works, how to evaluate your return on investment, and what ESCO certification means for you.

Basics

How solar panels generate electricity

Solar panels (photovoltaic cells) convert sunlight into direct current (DC) electricity. An inverter then converts DC into alternating current (AC) for use in your home or building. Excess energy is either stored in batteries or exported back to the grid depending on your system configuration.

Basics

On-grid vs. off-grid vs. hybrid systems

On-grid systems connect to the utility grid and offset your consumption during the day. Off-grid systems use batteries for full independence. Hybrid systems combine both, giving daytime savings plus battery backup. For most commercial and residential clients in Thailand, on-grid or hybrid systems offer the best return.
