Frequently asked questions

Your questions answered

Clear answers about surveys, certification, warranties, installation, and how to get started with your solar project.

Do you offer a free project survey?

Yes. We provide a free property inspection, system design, and cost-savings estimate before you commit — with no obligation. An electricity bill helps us size the system and estimate ROI more accurately, but you can contact us first and our team will guide you from there.

How do you support ESCO certification and compliance?

We deliver projects under an ESCO-certified approach, coordinating design, technical planning, and compliance requirements — ensuring your installation meets professional standards and is eligible for applicable incentives.

What warranty and performance guarantee do you offer?

We guarantee system performance against agreed targets. If the system underperforms, we will upgrade or adjust at our cost. All installations include full after-sales support — covering maintenance, monitoring, and a dedicated service team for repairs and replacements.

Residential vs commercial — what's the difference?

We design systems for both homes and businesses. Residential systems are sized around household daytime usage and tariff type. Commercial systems — hotels, factories, offices — are designed around operational hours, energy load profiles, and compliance needs. For both, ROI depends on electricity usage, daytime usage percentage, tariff type, and actual site conditions.

Which areas do you serve?

Phuket-based with projects across southern Thailand and nationwide.

How do I contact you on LINE?

Message us at LINE ID @smarterenergyth or call 076 322 095-7 during business hours.

How long does a solar installation take?

Residential systems typically take 2–5 days from start to commissioning. Commercial and industrial systems vary from 1–4 weeks depending on system size, site complexity, and grid connection requirements.

What happens during a free site survey?

Our engineer visits your property to assess roof structure, orientation, shading, available installation area, and existing electrical connections. The survey confirms safety requirements and installation conditions before final design. System sizing, ROI figures, and the final proposal are completed after this visit.

Do I need batteries?

Most on-grid systems in Thailand do not require batteries — the grid acts as your virtual battery. Batteries add cost but provide backup power during outages. We'll recommend the right configuration based on your priorities and budget.

How do I monitor my system after installation?

All our installations include access to a professional monitoring platform. You can track real-time and historical production data, consumption offset, and system health from your phone or computer.

What maintenance does a solar system require?

Solar panels have no moving parts and require minimal maintenance. We recommend annual cleaning to remove dust and debris, and periodic inspection of wiring, inverters, and mounting. Our after-sales team handles all maintenance calls.

Can I expand my system in the future?

Yes. We design systems with future expansion in mind. If your energy needs grow, additional panels or storage can typically be added. Our engineers will advise on the best approach during the initial system design.

How is system size estimated?

System size is estimated based on your monthly electricity bill, daytime usage percentage, property type, tariff category, and available roof or installation area. Our engineers use yield analysis and site data to recommend the right system for your goals. Final sizing is confirmed after a site survey.

Do I need an electricity bill before requesting a proposal?

An electricity bill helps us estimate system size, potential savings, and ROI more accurately — but it is not required to get started. You can contact us first, and our team will advise what information is helpful for the next step.

What affects solar ROI?

ROI depends on your electricity usage level, the proportion of daytime usage (when solar is generating), your electricity tariff, system size, available installation area, and actual site conditions. Our engineers use real usage data and a site assessment to provide a detailed, site-specific savings estimate — preliminary figures are refined once the survey is complete.

Can solar generate power at night?

Solar panels generate electricity during daylight hours only. At night, the system does not produce solar power — your property draws from the grid as normal. If backup power or nighttime energy storage is a priority, a battery system can be added, though this increases overall investment.

What happens after I submit an inquiry?

Our team reviews your inquiry and follows up to understand your property type, electricity usage, and goals. We'll recommend the next step — typically a free site survey where installation conditions are confirmed and a customized proposal is prepared. Final system sizing and ROI are confirmed after the site survey and engineering review.

How long do solar panels last?

Quality solar panels are built to last 25 years or more. They degrade slowly — typically around 0.5–0.7% per year — so after 25 years a good panel still produces roughly 80% of its original output. Inverters have a shorter service life and may be replaced once over the lifetime of the system.
